RPL & Attendance
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means that the value of prior learning, including academic qualifications achieved, as well as life and work experience, may be recognized for entry into a course.
Applications will be considered for direct entry into the start of academic year two. International students are required to meet English Language requirements and academic criteria. Students with no previous design and art experience are encouraged to enrol in the Certificate of Design and Art (Foundation).
Students apply to the Programme Coordinator for recognition of prior learning/credit transfer. The College bases its decision to transfer credit on:
- Hours of study per course/unit
- Documentation level of the course of study undertaken
- Documented learning elements/outcomes of the course of study undertaken, and if necessary the performance criteria.
- Standard of portfolio work
- Assessment results
- Reports
ATTENDANCE
A minimum of 80% attendance is required. The College registers attendance very strictly, if a student is unable to attend a class they are required to phone the College in advance. Students must be in class at the start of the lesson. Students may be marked absent if they do not attend at least 80% of each class.
